Location
Green Algae Boil is located in the Seminole State Forest about 1.8 miles southeast of Cassia.
Description
Green Algae Boil is a 5th magnitude spring and consists of vents A and B. It has a circular pool 25 feet in diameter and 0.4 feet deep. The vent(s) may not be visible due to the large amount of organic material covering the spring bottom. The water is clear with a slight hydrogen sulfide odor. Water flow is barely visible from beneath dense leaf debris in the small, circular pool at vent A, while there is no visible flow in the pool at vent B.
The spring run is approximately 6 feet wide, 0.3 feet deep and flows south 150 feet to Sulphur Run. The public land surrounding the spring is a hardwood forest with palmetto understory.
Utilization
The spring is undeveloped. The water flows into Sulphur Run.
