DEP to hold public meetings on Consumptive Use Permit rule revisions

In August, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and Water Management Districts will hold rule development workshops throughout the state. The purpose of the workshops will be to discuss concepts under development by the "CUPcon workgroups" to resolve issues stakeholders identified last fall. Learn more about CUPcon

The Department will also be proposing revisions to Chapter 62-40 of the Florida Administrative Code, to include criteria for reuse offsets and credits, other recommendations of the Reclaimed Water Policy Workgroup and recommendations resulting from the Consumptive Use Permitting Consistency Initiative.

The DEP says that it anticipates "specific rule language will be available for some, but not all, of the issues discussed at the workshops." For a calendar identifying dates and locations of the workshops, visit the link below.
