Apopka Beauclair Canal

An aerial view looking southeast of the Apopka Beauclair Canal at the dam at CR-48 (at bottom). The new Nutrient Reduction Facility (NuRF) is seen under construction. The NuRF is a $7.3 million cooperative water quality improvement effort by the LCWA, SJRWMD and the FDEP. The project will use off-line alum injection to remove pollutants flowing out of Lake Apopka into the rest of the Harris Chain of Lakes. Lake Apopka can be seen in the extreme top right of the photo 07/03/2008.
